Medfield Animal Shelter Awarded $10,000 Grant from Medfield Foundation Legacy Fund
The Medfield Animal Shelter is excited to announce it has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Medfield Foundation Legacy Fund to support the renovation of its animal housing facilities.
“We are thrilled to receive this generous grant from the Legacy Fund,” said Mike Barta, President of the Medfield Animal Shelter. “Our facility is over 20 years old and in need of upgrades, not only to meet new regulations but also to align with modern animal welfare practices. The renovations will help us create a more comfortable, healthy, and enriching environment for the animals in our care as they await adoption into their forever homes.”
A grant from the Medfield Foundation Legacy Fund provided support for this project. The Medfield Foundation Legacy Fund is a professionally managed endowment fund supported by generous gifts from the community. The Legacy Fund invests for the long term while also addressing current needs through grantmaking. Grants are made to organizations working in the community through an annual competitive process conducted by volunteers serving on the Medfield Foundation Legacy Fund Grant Committee.
“The Medfield Animal Shelter placed over 500 pets last year and is such an important part of our community,” said Christopher Cahill, Co-Chair of the Medfield Foundation Legacy Fund. “We are honored to support their efforts to make important updates and improvements for the future by awarding grant funds to help leverage other private donations for this extensive project.”

About the Medfield Animal Shelter
The Medfield Animal Shelter’s mission is to rescue lost or abandoned animals and provide for their comfort and safety until they are reunited with their owners or placed in new homes. We are a no-kill shelter, which means no pet will ever be euthanized because it has run out of time to find a home. We are committed to ending the overpopulation of pets that results in almost one million companion pets being euthanized at shelters in the U.S. every year (according to the ASPCA). All cats, rabbits, and dogs adopted from us are spayed or neutered before adoption. /for more information, visit medfieldshelter.org
